today we are reading from primary sources Objective: I can identify and explain the causes and motivations of imperialism through analyzing primary source text. instructions: read and analyze the primary sources and anwser the questions on your own sheet of paper Imperialism DBQ We will be watching TWO Crash Course videos today. You will watch a video about Imperialism around the world, and then one about imperialism in the US specifically. Big Question: What was the impact of Imperialism around the world and on the US. Objective: I can explain the major impacts of Imperialism as well as its impact on America. Questions: Crash Course Imperialism Questions Finish the African Imperialism map that we started yesterday. We will take notes for the second half of class. Today we will finish up the causes of Imperialism and move to imperialism in Africa. What actually happened in Africa during this time?
1) Start by completing the reading activity from yesterday. You do NOT need to do number 4. 2) Watch the following video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df3Fi2DF1Ww , and copy down notes the same way it is drawn on the video. 3) Begin the African Imperialism Map. shade/color in each country to represent which European power colonized that region. I will give you a copy, but here it is if you missed class. Africa Map Imperialism We will begin today by taking notes for about 15 minutes.
